Well, perhaps I should say it is nearlythe true story of Les Lavandes since I may have been guilty of a little exaggeration or embellishment in some places. All the events described, well, nearly all of them, actually did take place and most of the people are real characters even if I have described them more as caricatures. I just hope none of the people I have traduced read this blog or, if they do, bother to sue me. Doing so would get them nowhere, of course, since I have insufficient funds to pay their legal expenses let alone any damages.
This was originally intended to be a sort of journal, a day-by-day and blow-by-blow account of buying a property in France. It was only after I started transcribing rough notes into a semi-readable account that I remembered just how much fun it had been for both Mrs S and me. From there it was but a small step to what followed at the start of this blog.
Now I have finished the original story, the blog is also about other French experiences.
The passion flower had sprawled right across the door to the shed where the gardening tools are kept.
